Broadway

Christopher Lloyd is appearing in the Paul Osbourn play Morning's at Seven from March 28, 2002 through June 16, 2002 at the Lyceum Theater in Manhattan. Set in 1938, the play revolves around four sisters in their late 60s and early 70s, who live within a block or so of each other, as well as their husbands, and one couple's son and fiancee. Lloyd plays Carl Bolton, a 68-year-old man, husband of Ida, the third sister, and father of Homer. Carl is an existential character, who continuously strugges with his place in life, often wondering, "Where am I" and demanding to "go back to the fork" to follow his lost dream of becoming a dentist. [Personal note: Watching part of it caused me to CRINGE because I have a phobia of dentists. UGH!!!]

For reviews of the play and the story of my trip to New York, please visit the Morning's at Seven page of this site. For information on the Lyceum, including directions and ticket information, please visit the Theater section.

January 23, 2002 -- Ta-Da! I finally got the Taxi and filmography sections into a database. So those pages are dynamically linked to a database! Click the headings to sort by year, title, character, etc. I also put some new information from Christina on the theater section. Hope you guys are enjoying Cyberchase! I know I am.

January 18, 2002 -- Now listed on Broadway.com, Christopher Lloyd is cast to perform in Paul Osborn's play Morning's At Seven at the Lyceum Theatre. Directed by Daniel Sullivan, the play is about a man who brings his fiancée home to meet his relatives. The play is scheduled to open March 28 and run through June. Check the theater section for more information!

January 17, 2002 -- I did a little tweaking to the new site and updated the links section. I also updated my personal page and took out some old stuff that I don't do anymore. Coming next - a new guestbook, counter, and filmography... as soon as I figure out how to upload a database.... :-P

January 3, 2001 -- I just got an update from Christina for her Corner. Check it out - there are TONS of updates! :)

December 30, 2001 -- Even more updates! I have some exclusive insight into Christopher Lloyd's personality and corrections to the theater section.

On a personal note, I had to put my super parakeet Kirby to sleep on December 1, 2001. She had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was beginning to experience pain on the day I decided to end her suffering. But for the month prior to her passing, she went to work with me every day - a wonderful "gift" from my employer. My dad was there, and she went very quickly and quietly. Kirby was 9 years old - extremely old for a parakeet. And I miss my baby so very much.

Then nearly two weeks later on December 14, I had to put my Westie Cindy to sleep. She had been experiencing digestive problems combined with cognitive dysfunction disorder. She had refused nearly all food for several months, and I was at the point of feeding her canned dog food mixed with water through a syringe. I made the decision to put her to sleep when I came home from work that day and I found her on the kitchen floor in a very bad state. Again, my dad drove to the vet's office to be with us in her final moments. Cindy was 14 years old.

Rest well, my sweet babies - Kirby and Cindy.

Geffen Playhouse, Los Angeles, California October 27, 2001 -- More updates! Check out the pictures from my trip to Los Angeles earlier in the month. Also new is Christina's Corner - updates from my main source with all the latest on Christopher Lloyd, Christina Soberon. She'll provide bimonthly updates on what he's doing, when he can be seen on TV, and when his films are due to be released. Check back often for all the latest!

Did you visit this site on October 22? If not, check out the special birthday message for Christopher Lloyd.

October 17, 2001 -- I made some more additions to the site tonight. I fixed the style sheet, added a Frequently Asked Questions page, added a site map, and made the site accessible to people with visual disabilities. Thanks to Damon for being my Quality Assurance person. Let me know if this works for ya! <smile> Look for an updated filmography and news sections as well as pictures of the Geffen Playhouse soon.

October 12, 2001 -- Today is a day I will NEVER forget as long as I live. At approximately 9:40 this evening (Pacific time), I met Christopher Lloyd in the Green Room of the Geffen Playhouse. I had so many questions for him, but I could barely breathe, let alone speak. He was very gracious in talking with my dad and me, and he even autographed two items for me - the DVD of his first film, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and a postcard I got from Universal Studios Florida of him as Doc Brown in Back to the Future II with Michael J. Fox as Marty. On the DVD cover he wrote, "Nicole, My very best wishes to you! Christopher Lloyd". And on the postcard he wrote, "Nicole, See you sometime "Back in the Future!" Doc Christopher Lloyd". I'll scan them and get them on the site as soon as I get home.

Anyway, you probably all want to hear the details of our short conversation. First, he was very quiet, which was a little tough for me since I was pretty shy around him. I did ask if he had an address where fans can write. Unfortunately the answer was no. I also asked if he would mind visiting the site and giving me some feedback. He said he would have to have someone help him get online because he's not very computer literate. I do hope that he will let me know what he does and does not like about the site since it really is HIS site. But that was pretty much it for our conversation. I really wish I had asked more questions or that I had taken a picture with him, but I didn't want to make him feel uncomfortable. It really was a wonderful experience - a complete dream come true!

As for the play itself, it was marvelous!! This has to be the best acting performance I've ever seen him give. (But it probably helped that I was only a few feet away from him!) The play revolved around The Man, an author nearing the end of his career, and The Woman, a fan of the author's writings. I could totally relate to Holand Taylor's character - if I were to be allowed backstage and meet Christopher Lloyd, what would I say?? Like The Woman, I was so afraid I either wouldn't be able to speak or that I would say or do something stupid. But in the end everything turned out just fine for both The Woman and for me. His acting was nothing short of spectacular, the timing was perfect, and he portrayed his character with the range of emotion that I have come to expect from him. What a joy it is to watch him act!

Well, it's 11:15 PM now, which is really like 1:15 AM for me, so I'm going to turn in for the night. If you ever read this, Mr. Lloyd, thank you for granting me a few minutes to fulfill a long-time dream. I wish you continued success and happiness in everything you do.

September 29, 2001 -- Welcome to the latest incarnation of the Unofficial Christopher Lloyd Web Site. Well, I finally did it. I got a moment of inspiration, gutted this place, reorganized everything, added new material, and joined the late 90s with frames! ;) All of the old information is still here. It's just categorized a little differently. I'll get a site map up soon.

I suppose I should be honest.... My true inspritation for finally sitting down and fixing this place is Christopher Lloyd himself. He is currently in a play in Los Angeles called The Unexpected Man, and I have a trip planned to go there on October 12-14. I'm hoping to *maybe* meet with him and give him the link to my little site. But, of course, I'm not guaranteed to meet him. One can only hope, right? Anyway, hope you enjoy the new look!

Christopher Lloyd was in a Geffen Playhouse production of The Unexpected Man in Los Angeles, California. The play opened on September 19, 2001 and closed on October 27, 2001. Please visit the theater section of this site for more pictures, a review, and theater information. You need to install Flash 5 to view the Geffen Playhouse Web site.

Be sure to visit the Kids World post production site for tons of information about the film, to be released November 7, 2001. It also contains a great interview with Christopher Lloyd with some things that even I didn't know as well as some great pictures in the Press Kit section.

As announced on the Man on the Moon section of the Universal Studios Web site, the film Man on the Moon was released to theaters on Christmas Day, December 25, 1999. The film is now available on VHS and DVD.

Christopher Lloyd was in a production of Oliver! at the Sundance Theatre in Utah. The production ran from August 2-14, 1999 on the Eccles Stage. Lloyd played the part of Fagan and replaced Roger Daltry at the last minute.

October 25, 2000 -- Announcement! Over the next several weeks, I'll be updating the various pages of this site. This is due to a new wealth of information provided by our friend and fellow Lloyd fan Christina Soberon! She has discovered some old interviews that Lloyd has given over the years and a recent picture of Lloyd and his wife. I've also found some more information on Lloyd's current project Interstate 60. You should expect to see the new information trickling in starting right now and continuing for the next few weeks.

For the long term, I've decided to completely re-work parts of this site. Some of the pages you see today haven't changed much in format since they were written... one is as old as 1997! I'd also like to make more of this site interactive with a searchable move database as a start. Plus I want to change the look of this site. C'mon, even I'm tired of the blue. ;-) But all of this stuff is going to take some time, which I don't currently have. Look for the major changes around the end of this year.

Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to come back soon to see the ongoing progress.

July 22, 2000 -- Deadly Games information! I was surfing around the 'net and came upon this neat little gem. Includes a pretty complete biography of Lloyd as well as an air schedule, press releases abuot the episodes, and production information. VERY well put together, if you ask me.

June 25, 2000 -- Special thanks to EVERYONE who has visited this site in the last year. August will mark the one year anniversary of this site, and we've had over 10,000 hits since it opened. I'll do my best to keep everything updated. And we now have interactive parts to this site like (now fixed) live chat room. So come back again soon!

Houston Chronicle Article

I have obtained permission from The Houston Chronicle to reprint an article they ran on Saturday, July 16, 1994 prior to the release of Angels in the Outfield. The writer, Louis B. Parks, interviewed Lloyd via telephone. The article is about a page long and is a rare interview directly with him.

Due to copyright restrictions set forth by The Houston Chronicle, I am not allowed to reprint it on this Web site. However, if you would like a printed copy, please send a self-addressed stamped envelope (SASE) to:

Nicole R. Stachowicz
P.O. Box 940512
Houston, Texas 77094-7512
Attention: Lloyd Article

This offer is limited to the first 500 people to respond. I think I've had four people respond, so there are PLENTY of copies remaining. After that, I may continue to offer it, but I would have to pay a copyright fee. Requests without a SASE will be thrown away. Also, if you would like email notification that I have received your request, please include a note.
