Christopher Lloyd's High School

I'd bet you're wondering how I got that picture. In October of 1998, I happened to go to Boston on a business trip and managed to drive to Connecticut on a Sunday. I stopped in New Haven, where he was born, and Westport, where he attended high school. I was browsing through the Westport library and came across some old high school yearbooks. Since the individual pictures were of the seniors only, I did some quick calculations and arrived at the year I figured he would have graduated from high school. I looked in that book, but alas, no Lloyd. So I went to the following year, noticed that a junior class picture had been cut out, but again, no Lloyd.

Finally I came across the 1958 yearbook where an entire page had been torn out. It had the L last names on that page. *sigh* So then I found a "Last Will and Testament" section where all of the seniors had written something that they were leaving to the other students. This is what I saw in the yearbook:

"I, Chris Lloyd, will Waverny to anyone who wants to throw a party there next year."

So much for him being a shy kid. He seems like quite the party animal! ;-)

On that same trip to Connecticut, I found the high school that he attended, Staples High School. However, the City of Westport built a new high school building in the 1960s after Lloyd graduated, so his former high school is now a middle school.
